Redmoon was founded in 1990 to promote a unique brand of performance committed to the highest quality artistic product and to civic well-being. Pulling with conviction from contemporary art forms and ancient theatrical forms, Redmoon has created a performance style that is equal parts pageantry, gadgetry, acrobatics, and ephemera.

The Youth Spectacle is an event that celebrates and invests in Chicago’s youth: muscular and poetic, powerful and courageous. It will be a civic event that celebrates the power of Chicago, the value of it’s citizens and the belief in hard work, courageous acts, and loving community that speaks to the identity of Chicago. :

The Youth Spectacle is a combination of visual art installations and performances created and devised by young people, alongside professional Redmoon artists through our Neighborhood Arts Programming. :

A Civic Mission:Building Community The Youth Spectacle will raise the profile of the underserved communities that Redmoon is committed to, as a core component of its civic mission. It aims to increase the vital support for Redmoon’s educational and community programming that continues to engage and excite Chicago’s youth.

What Will it Take? : 

What Will it Take? In 2010 alone, we aim to raise over $122,000 through foundations, government agencies and individual donations. We also want to shoulder some of the cost, making it our goal to raise $30,000 in earned income initiatives.

A Civic Mission:Your Impact is Measurable In 2010: The Youth Spectacle will encompass the work of over 500 Chicago Youth over the course of 2 years. $2,500 will support an immersive curriculum for 30 students.

A Civic Mission:Your Impact is Measurable : 

A Civic Mission:Your Impact is Measurable In 2010: The Youth Spectacle will encompass the work of over 500 Chicago Youth over the course of 2 years. $2,500 will support an immersive curriculum for 30 students. 20 Professional Artists will actively collaborate with Youth to create this spectacle. $1,000 will provide training to 2 Redmoon Teaching Artists.

It will take place in 1 major Chicago Location. $500 will subsidize the building and permit costs for this public location.

A Civic Mission:Your Impact is Measurable : 

A Civic Mission:Your Impact is Measurable In 2010: The Youth Spectacle will encompass the work of over 500 Chicago Youth over the course of 2 years. $2,500 will support an immersive curriculum for 30 students. 20 Professional Artists will actively collaborate with Youth to create this spectacle. $1,000 will provide training to 2 Redmoon Teaching Artists. It will take place in 1 major Chicago Location. $500 will subsidize the building and permit costs for this public location. It will engage over 2,000 audience members over the course of 1-2 nights. $100 will ensure a low ticket price for all Chicagoans.
