You don’t need to be a computer expert to create a blog. Minimum technical know-how. It is INTERACTIVE It is DINAMIC Students can COLLABORATE with each other Powerpoints, VIDEOS, audio files can be embedded You can have a teacher’s blog (individual) or a class blog (collective) Students can sindicate (RSS) to your blog It gives independence to students It helps students develop their “learning to learn” competence IT IS MOTIVATING WHY WOULD I WANT TO USE BLOGGING AS A LANGUAGE LEARNING TOOL? : WHY WOULD I WANT TO USE BLOGGING AS A LANGUAGE LEARNING TOOL? 21st century students are digitally competent and future students will be even more competent. Internet: bewildering array of potentially useful resources. Blog: an innovative language learning tool. Teachers need to be methodologically updated. It develops students’ lifelong learning and self-study skills. Extra curricular extension of the classroom. Portfolio of students’ written work. Become a learner at the same time as a teacher. What is syndication?, how can I syndicate to Web 2.0 sites? The purple blog is a teacher’s blog, whereas the green one is a class blog It is a suscription to a site. Instead of you having to get in the site to see what is new, the updates to the sites go to your computer/feeds reader page.
