Why don’t you create yourown ecological garden? : Why don’t you create yourown ecological garden? PROBLEMS Time Space SOLUTIONS Only one thing to do frequently: to irrigate Small Crop Tables PLANNING : PLANNING Use of the garden Size of the plot Location Protection Layout of vegetables Greenhouses and compost containers USE OF THE GARDEN : USE OF THE GARDEN Choose between practical or ornamental species SIZE OF THE PLOT : SIZE OF THE PLOT It depends on the aim you want for your garden 80-120 m²: covers the annual needs of a three memebrs family 40-50 m²: gives you vegetables the whole year 20-25 m²: produces salad vegetables during spring and summer 12 m²: is considered the minimum LOCATION : LOCATION Orientated to south Nearby water captures Nearby the kitchen PROTECTION : PROTECTION Wall: creates turbulences Hedge: bushes roots compete for water and minerals with vegetables roots Fence: the best option LAYOUT OF VEGETABLES : LAYOUT OF VEGETABLES ROWS CLUMPS PUTTING FRUIT TREES : PUTTING FRUIT TREES Only in big plots: aggressive roots You can put them in big pots GREENHOUSES AND COMPOST CONTAINERS : GREENHOUSES AND COMPOST CONTAINERS Greenhouse Making seed nurseries Growing vegetables out of season Compost container From garbage generated in your home Natural compost CHOOSING SPECIES TO PLANT : CHOOSING SPECIES TO PLANT There is a huge amount of varieties of each specie: create and innovate!!!!
