CHEMICAL REACTION :

CHEMICAL REACTION EMAN SHIRAZI Period 9 http://people.bath.ac.uk/ch3mw/photo3.gif

What are the different types of chemical reactions ? :

What are the different types of chemical reactions ? Combustion Synthesis Decomposition Double displacement Single displacement Acid-base http://www.chemistryhelp.info/images/chemical-reactions.jpg http://www.chemistryland.com/CHM130/IconChemicalReactions.jpg

What is a Chemical Reaction? :

What is a Chemical Reaction? Any chemical process in which substances are changed into different ones, with different properties, and from changing position or form phase. http://www.answers.com/topic/chemical-reaction http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/science-projects-for-kids-chemical-reaction-3.jpg

What is combustion reaction? :

What is combustion reaction? A combustion is a chemical change, that is oxidation followed by the production of the heat and light. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combustion http://www.elcosh.org/record/document/494/image3.jpg

What is a Fire triangle? :

What is a Fire triangle? A fire triangle is a simple model for understanding the ingredients necessary for most fires. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_triangle http://www.survival-school.org/sitepics/354113531_004f2780b9_m.jpg

What is activation energy? :

What is activation energy? Is the energy that a atomic system must need before something is being started and a reaction can occur. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/energy+of+activation http://www.columbia.edu/cu/biology/courses/c2005/purves6/figure06-14.jpg

Why is heat/fire a necessary part of the fire triangle? :

Why is heat/fire a necessary part of the fire triangle? With out the heat the fire would not start. Its important to add heat to the fuel in a flame. Energy is necessary because energy goes to other fuels and oxygen molecules. No fuel no fire. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_triangle http://www.osha.gov/SLTC/etools/evacuation/images/firetriangle.jpg

How is a Cook top of your stove a real-life example of a fire triangle. :

How is a Cook top of your stove a real-life example of a fire triangle. The cook top of a stove has heat, fuel( gas), and oxygen. They all combined together to make fire so we can cook are food. http://www.byoh.com/images/appliances/Thermador%20Induction%20Cooktop%20$3,000.jpg http://www.waringproducts.com/ret/share/man/68_man.pdf

What is a combustion engine? :

What is a combustion engine? A combustion engine is an engine that a fuel-air mixture is burned in the engine correctly, and the hot gas products of the engine can act forwardly on the surface of its moving parts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_combustion_engine http://www.physics.byu.edu/faculty/rees/360/Four_stroke_cycle_compression.jpg

How does a combustion engine work. :

How does a combustion engine work. In a gasoline engine a mixture of gasoline and air is sprayed into a cylinder. This is compressed by a piston and atapoint in the compression stroke, a spark plug makes an electrical spark that ignites the fuel. The combustion of the fuel results in the making of heat, and the hot gases that are in the cylinder are then at a higher pressure than the fuel-air mixture and so drive the piston back down. These combustion gases are vented and the fuel-air mixture reintroduced to run a second stroke. The outward straight motion of the piston is ordinarily harnessed by a crankshaft to produce circular motion. Valves control the intake of air-fuel mixture and allow exhaust gasses to leave at the right times. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_does_an_external_combustion_engine_work http://users.telenet.be/cleanteam/index_bestanden/image997.gif

How are NASCAR engines different from street car engines that allow them to operate at a much higher speeds? :

How are NASCAR engines different from street car engines that allow them to operate at a much higher speeds? Car engines- their engines are smaller and doesn’t go as fast as NASCAR cars. It has mufflers, that doesn’t need nitrous oxide. NASCAR engines- Nascar engine are handmade. Their bodies are built from flat sheet metal, which makes it have more combustion which then makes it go faster. http://images.businessweek.com/ss/07/03/0312_wikiguide/image/4-nascar.jpg http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question588.htm

How does Nitrous Oxide help engines perform better? :

How does Nitrous Oxide help engines perform better? Nitrous oxide has another effect that improves performance even more. When it vaporizes, nitrous oxide provides a significant cooling effect on the intake air. When you reduce the intake air temperature, you increase the air's density, and this provides even more oxygen inside the cylinder. Basically it has more room for oxygen, so it makes it go faster. http://www.cartuningcentral.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/nitrous-oxide-kit.jpg http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question259.htm

Of Cheat in NASCAR when something was done illegally to increase the combustion performance of the engine :

Of Cheat in NASCAR when something was done illegally to increase the combustion performance of the engine Michael Waltrip, the driver of the No. 55 Toyota and the owner of Michael Waltrip Racing that put three cars in the 500, knew about the substance before it was discovered. http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/columns/story?seriesId=2&columnist=newton_david&id=2768768 http://wwwimage.cbsnews.com/images/2007/02/15/image2482364.jpg
