Step #7 What qualities should parent possess in order to be good role models for their children? By going back and looking at this, can you see a word that seems to be an “operative word”?

In this case the operative word could either be “role model” or qualities”. Pick one of them try to think of a broad, general statement using that word. For this example we are going to use “role model”. Can’t think of a good sentence? Use the dictionary to look the word up, and use the “definition method.” :

Here is what it might be like:The first quality that a parent must possess is a sense of honesty. Children need to know that what their parents tell them are true. Without this, they will not only trust their parents, but others as well. Trust is an important base to any relationship that people have. A second important quality that a parent must possess is responsibility. If a parent isn’t responsible for providing adequately for their children, children will also model irresponsibility.
