Actions or events that happened in the past and have no connection with the present
Example: I studied Biology in my country for three years. Present Perfect
Actions or events that started in the past, continue at the present time, and may continue in the future
Example: I have studied Biology in my country for the past three years.

Actions or events that happened at a specific time in the past
Example: I lived in Los Angeles for one year in 1999. Present Perfect
Actions or events that happened at an unspecified time in the past
Example: I have visited the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.

Actions or events that happened in a period of time that is finished
Example: I worked three hours this morning. (Morning is finished.) Present Perfect
Actions or events that happened in a period of time that is not finished
Example: I have worked three hours so far this morning. (It is still morning. I may still work more hours.)
