Not only are current events real but they are “history”. They are objective and personal accounts of history and add to children’s knowledge of the past. #4 Variety! : #4 Variety! Current events have something for everyone! News = Civics Horoscopes = Lang. Arts. Business = Math. Comics = Fine Arts / Reading. Sports = P.E. #5 Practicality : #5 Practicality Current events material contain practical vocabulary students will use in their lives. It contains practical life lessons and ideas. #6 Writing models! (A) : #6 Writing models! (A) Newspapers and all journalism contain excellent examples of stylized and communicative writing. The writing is clear, concise and to the point.
