My name is Eileen Jones : 

My name is Eileen Jones I currently hold a B.A. degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Educational Leadership. Since becoming unemployed in the past two years, I have created a model for a suspension program in the Manatee County, FL area.

Teaching Philosophy : 

My Teaching Philosophy is that I believe all teachers are morally obligated to enter the classroom with only the highest expectations for each one of our students. Teaching Philosophy

The Problem : 

The Manatee County School District has in the last three years suspended over 5300 students each year. The Problem

What Happens to these Students? : 

These students join gangs, commit crimes, or just hang out with friends because there is no monitoring system in place to ensure that these students are being productive and working toward graduating. What Happens to these Students?

Solution : 

I want to provide a safe learning environment where these at-risk students may come to gain tools necessary to help them make better choices, maintain grade level performance, and to focus on life after high school. Solution

District Support : 

The school district superintendent stated in a letter of support for the program that, “Our district supports your efforts to secure funding for the S.E.A. Program, a Suspension Education Alternative Program. A program of this type has been needed in our community for quite some time and we applaud your efforts to bring these services to our families”. Call to Action : 

The startup money in the amount of $500,000 will be used for operating and capital outlay expenditures. In the succeeding years, the program will seek additional funding through donors, and in-kind donations from other sources. Call to Action
