Birth of a legend Miles Davis was born in 1926, in Illinois, U.S.A. He
started playing trumpet when he was 13 years old.
By 17, he had played with some professional bands.
He recorded his first album when he was 19.
Birth of a Rebel :
Birth of a Rebel Matoub was born in 1956, in Algeria, in a village in the mountains of Kabylia. At the age of nine he made his first guitar from a gasoline can and began writing songs as a teenager. He made his first album when he was 22 and living in France.
Caged birds sing :
Caged birds sing Through music, Miles and Matoub expressed the pain that oppression caused in their lives and in their communities. Music is a weapon they used to fight for their causes, each in their own way. These were men who wouldn’t be kept down and who wouldn’t submit to forces that tried to minimize them or marginalize them. These were men who stood tall and lived life the way they chose.
Miles Davis might not have been a noble man, but he was a giant of Jazz music and expressed the rage and the pride of the Black man in America. He died of natural causes in 1991 at the age of 65. His music stands the test of time and is still honored today. :

He sang not only about politics but about love and life too. He wanted to unify his country through brotherhood and democracy. He was assassinated in June of 1998 at the age of 42. He is revered and honored by all Berbers, all over the world.
