Description:

Description This course is based on the book: “Modern Hebrew” by Blumberg and Lewittes , Revised Edition, 1963. The book is long out of print, you may be able to obtain a copy from a used book seller on the internet. We are using the 1963 edition, other editions may have significant differences. Each chapter in the book is composed of five sections; 1-Vocabulary 2-Story, one line at a time with translation 3-Complete story 4-Grammar 5-Exercises I will be adding (soon, I hope) a 6 th section: 6-Self Evaluation After every five chapters, there is a review and test in the book. Internet Links to Used Book Stores http://www.alibris.com/ http://www.abebooks.com / When you connect to the bookstore site, use the search box to search for: Title Modern Hebrew Author Blumberg and Lewittes The book we are using is the 1963 edition. Many of the book listings will not give the edition. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO GET AN OLDER EDITION . Fairly major changes were made in the 1963 edition. There are also later editions which could be used because they have relatively minor changes. If the edition is not listed, you might be able to request the information. Alibris has a link for contacting the seller, I haven’t been able to find one on Abebooks . If you cannot obtain a copy of the book, I can make Xerox copies of chapters from my book for you. I will be adding a “Self Evaluation” section which is not in the book. It is not a test, but a learning opportunity fo find out for yourself what you may need to study again. After every 5 chapters, there is a review and then a test.
