Some interesting things about Ms. Felder: 

Some interesting things about Ms. Felder I come from a large family: I have 2 brothers ,2 sisters, 2 nieces, & 1 nephew I played college basketball and loved it I am 6”2 (without heels) I love sports, reading, and watching movies Some of my pet peeves (things I don’t like) are: disrespect to others (students & those in authority), not paying attention, and not giving your best effort.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

OUR CLASSROOM RULES: 

OUR CLASSROOM RULES Respect the teacher and classmates Follow directions the first time they are given Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. Treat others how you want to be treated. NO foul language, teasing, or bullying will be allowed in the classroom for any reason Be seated in your desk when the bell rings or you will be considered tardy

Consequences for Inappropriate Behavior: 

Consequences for Inappropriate Behavior 1st time: Verbal Warning 2nd time: Detention (includes written assignment - on Tuesdays /Thursdays before school) 3rd time: Two days of Detention (includes two written assignment - on Tuesdays/Thursdays before school) 4th time: Call parents and request parental/administrator conference 5th time: Referral to Administrator

Participation = Cooperation: 

Participation = Cooperation Talking, passing notes, and other inappropriate behaviors during class show a lack of participation and focus. You must cooperate in order to be successful. If you don’t understand something- ASK! It shows initiative Cooperation is important.: Do your OWN work. It’s okay to ask for help, but NEVER let anyone do YOUR work for you. Follow all the rules of the school and this classroom

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES: 

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES There are NO restroom breaks unless in case of emergency. Sharpen pencils at the beginning of class Raise your hand and wait for teacher recognition before you ask a question or respond to a question. Raise your hand to ask permission to leave your seat (ex: throwing away trash).

Class Arrival & Daily Procedures: 

Class Arrival & Daily Procedures Enter quietly, with all of your materials and find your seat HW is to be placed in appropriate colored basket by the door Start your Bell Ringer in your journal Students who were absent need to speak with teacher immediately After completing Bell Ringer, quietly wait for teacher instruction Calendar/Agenda information for the lesson will be written on the board to your left each week.

PAPER HEADING: 

Students are to use this paper heading for every assignment submitted . This includes all Journal entries as well. Sample Heading: NAME MONTH/DAY/YEAR ENGLISH- MS. FELDER TITLE PAPER HEADING

Grading Policy: 

Grading Policy Chapter Tests 30% Classwork /Participation 20% Homework 10% Quiz and Bellwork 20% Final Paper 10% PPT Presentation 10%

TEXTBOOKS: 

TEXTBOOKS Textbooks will be assigned to each student at the beginning of the year. You are responsible for the upkeep of the textbooks and must turn them in at the end of the year. Students are responsible for bringing their textbooks to class EVERY day

Dismissal Procedures: 

Dismissal Procedures The last 5 minutes of class will used to write HW assignments and prepare for the next class. Make sure your area is clean and you have all of your belongings The teacher dismisses the class and not the bell--- stay seated until I give you permission to leave.

A FEW FINAL NOTES NO food/drinks in the classroom NO cell phone usage in the classroom NO ipods/video games permitted at school NO bathroom breaks (unless emergency) Bring ALL necessary materials daily . Let’s Have a Great Year!!
