The Faith of Rahab:

The Faith of Rahab Joshua 6:25

Faith is Constant While Knowledge Changes:

Faith is Constant While Knowledge Changes What did Rahab know when she hid the spies? Faith is not necessarily about how much you know. Our faith is not in the law but the lawgiver. The Bereans weren't satisfied with Paul as their sole source of information (Acts 17:11). When we are challenged about what we are doing, do we point to God as our defense or to men?

Faith Begins With Fear:

Faith Begins With Fear Rahab realized much the same thing that we must realize. If you do not submit to God you will reap destruction. It is the only path to God that brings you to Him with the right heart. See if you can find a place in scripture where someone approaches God (appropriately) without fear. It is fear that drives us to God and away from the world.

Faith Reaches People:

Faith Reaches People Some have looked for ways to make Rahab into something that she was not. Her profession is not revealed so that we may be impressed with it but that we may be impressed with faith. There is no life so sinful that God cannot transform it. Self-righteousness will keep God from making even the slightest correction (Matt. 9:12).

Faith Means Different Behavior:

Faith Means Different Behavior A sound faith is one that is always ready to do what is right. Even when we are ignorant we can show our willingness to do good. When we gain knowledge we will always be careful to follow God's instructions. We are not told of Rahab's later life but we are confident that is was different than the former.

Faith Leads to Salvation:

Faith Leads to Salvation Perhaps we must work harder here than Rahab. We may not find deliverance from physical tragedy. But consider that the destruction we see looming is greater than the one she saw and so is the deliverance. We may be called to a greater faith but it is rewarded with greater promises.
