Electoral College :

The election process involves the electoral college. In order for he/ she to win, they need to receive the most electoral college votes. Electoral College votes are based on the number of members that each state has in congress. The number of members that a state has in congress is based on that state’s population. If a candidate wins over a state, then that candidate will get its Electoral College votes. The state of Kansas has 6 Electoral College votes. McCain won over Kansas, so he got all 6 of the votes.

Page 8 How a Bill Becomes a Law Introduction……….A bill is introduced in the House or the Senate. Committee Action……. A bill is referred to a committee to make changes, hold hearings, and recommend passage of the bill Floor Action……. All bills must go through the House and the Senate before reaching the president. The House and Senate both hold debates and have a vote to pass the bill. House and Senate members meet to make a compromise on the bill. Both houses must approve the bill. Enactment Into Law…. President signs the bill into law. President vetoes the bill back to it’s original house.
