• Chapter III Health refers to maintenance of environmental factors such as cleanliness disposal of wastes dusts and fumes controlling- ventilation temperature humidification lighting and facilities – drinking water latrines urinals and spittoons. • Chapter IV Safety takes account of safety at workplace such as separation of dangerous machinery from working precautions to be taken from safety point of view in layout design and activities of inspections maintenance and training.

• The required number of posts -189 in 2010. Whereas sanctioned posts - 134 - filled - 68 only. New -1650/10. • The number of inspections per year has been decreasing since 2006. • The trend of nonfatal accidents is decreasing since 2007 however that of fatal accidents remains fairly constant. • The situation of no safety officer is more anxious and requires constant watch from directorates. • 1162 large scale industries. Scattered nature. • The number of cases filed per year is 621-53 strength of staff . • There are 4911 hazardous factories in Maharashtra employing about 2.47 lakh workers. Higher performance of medical wing is possible through appointment of more number of authorized surgeons.

• MARG is a voluntary group which agrees to share their resources amongst themselves for tackling the emergency situation. There are fifteen MARGs • Employers can self certify the fact of correct implementation of the labour laws. It is intended to minimize enforcement visits of inspectors at the same time ensuring effective compliance of various labour laws. • 177 competent persons. 25 master trainers authorized by department . 10 recognized first aid training institutes FATI. • MAH-Chemical-Large scale-Medium scale- complaints - Violations. • Innovative computerized labour management system. • Notifications and Resolutions.
