Three dams have been constructed: the Upper Dam, the Lower Dam and the Saddle Dam. Country's first RCC (roller compacted concrete) dams. 1. IndiaSlide 4: 2/25/2011 4 Roller Compacted Concrete It is named from the method used for construction. It is a zero slump concrete having same basic ingredients It is transported by dump trucks, spread by dozers and compacted by vibratory rollers.Slide 5: 2/25/2011 5 The main contractor for the roller compacted concrete dam work is Patel Engineering Ltd of Jogeshwari, Mumbai. 250 MW Ghatghar Hydro Electric Pumped Storage Scheme First time, the Ghatghar project used 60 per cent fly ash in the mixture. The results were better than expected. Then the fly ash proportion was increased to 70 per cent.
