The decision to join forces with Coca-Cola Company and PepsiCo against the proposed tax was made in November at the Sixth Annual National Convention of Asian American Convenience Store Owners Association (AACSA) held in Tampa, Florida. As part of this partnership, the AACSA pledged to collect at least 5 million signatures from customers visiting its members' convenience stores and gas stations over the next five months.
