Since 1941 the credit union has served the employees of Jefferson County, based in Birmingham, Alabama. A change of charter expanded membership to anyone who works or lives in Jefferson, Shelby, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Blount, St. Clair, or Bibb Counties, as well as county employees and their families. Jefferson Credit Union has helped members in extraordinary ways as the community and members have faced economic challenges.
