Happy Birthday!!! Mom, you are an incredible woman. From birthing and raising to teaching and training, your influence and love has had a huge effect on my life. You deserve recognition for all you do [and have done] and the love you have given. This is a presentation of what you mean to us. ?

Special : 

Special The bond that Destini and I have with you is very unique. We are a part of you and you will forever live in our hearts. The way you have sacrificed for us along with your words of wisdom and encouragement have helped me to become the man that I am today. You raised two good kids on your own and for that you are special beyond words.

Life : 

Life You brought Destini and me into the world. You cared for us, gave us all your love and the very best life you could provide for us. When times were rough you could have given up but you didn’t and for that I owe you my life.

Concern & Priority : 

Concern & Priority Because we were your children, you always put our needs before your own. It wasn’t always easy and were not always “little angels” but we have always been your number one priority.

Busy Bee : 

Busy Bee From bringing Destini to majorette practice or me to band practice, dropping us off and picking us up from school, constantly going to my school only to find me sitting in the principal’s office, making groceries, cooking, cleaning, washing, taking care of dad when started to get sick, and the list goes on… You did so much for us that we often took it for granted. Now that I am older, I know how hard it must have been, but you did it. I still can figure out how.

Teacher : 

Teacher As far as I can remember, you have always been a great teacher. I remember the [D-O-M-I-N-I-Q-U-E] song that helped me to remember how to spell my name; I remember you teaching me how to always wash glasses/cups, then plates, then pots and silverware. I remember you teaching me what it took to be a father [I learned that by watching you]; and how to “never let my right hand know what my left hand’s got”. So many things… I couldn’t name them all if I tried.

Open Arms : 

Open Arms I know I can always come to you and talk about anything. Right or wrong, I can always count on you to be there for me. All throughout my childhood, I have been faced with decisions that without your guidance could have easily sent down me the wrong path. Knowing that I could talk to you helped me to make the right decisions.

Steady, Strong, & Supportive : 

Steady, Strong, & Supportive When Destini and I needed you most, you have always came through. I know that you would drop anything to come to our rescue in any situation. You have always been a steady and strong force in my life, having my back even when it seemed the whole world was against me.

Unconditional Love : 

Unconditional Love Mom, throughout my life you have displayed a strong and deep love for your children. Although we may disappoint you, you’ never stop loving us. Through that love you have shown me how to appreciate life’s little things. Although it doesn’t seem like it, you have done something in your lifetime that a lot of single parents couldn’t do. You blessed the world with a smart, positive black man [me] and a strong black young woman [Destini]. You should be very proud! ?
