The Entrepreneurship MBA Program

Introduction: 

Introduction The Entrepreneurship MBA Program is very unique in that it gives students a place to learn about business from the ground up. This experience can be taken into the corporate environment, a family business, and even in developing a new business.

Problem Statement: 

Problem Statement After the Completion of different point of a student’s University career, they are unsure of ways to continue it. If more direction were given to students in terms of options and paths that could be taken, more recent college graduates would take advantage of the many specialized programs such as the Entrepreneurship MBA being offered by Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Idea: 

Idea To develop a website that would communicate the Entrepreneurship MBA Program being offered by the Silberman College of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson University by the people that know the most about it. By being able to meet the Director of the program, Professors, Current Students, and Alumni potential candidates for this program would be more informed and more likely to take part in it.

Revised Idea: 

Revised Idea To develop a multimedia experience that would communicate the Entrepreneurship MBA Program at Fairleigh Dickinson by the people that know the most about it, the Director of the Program, Professors, Current Students, and Alumni. By having the opportunity to virtually “meet” the people that make up this program would create an atmosphere of comfort and security for potential students that would hopefully attract them to partaking in this program.

Target Audience: 

Target Audience The Community College Partnership Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University has been around for many years. This program allows students to finish their bachelor’s degree and even begin their path to a graduate degree by offering classes in many satellite locations such as many of the local community colleges in New Jersey. This program offers potential students a fast track, affordable program, with scheduling options to fit the needs of a working adult. The best part about this program is the fact that it allows people all of these great features with the benefit of receiving their degree from the highly respected, Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Positioning: 

Positioning Though the Community College Partnership Program at Fairleigh Dickinson has many great success stories, one of the major problems with it is the great disconnect it has with many of the other great opportunities that are available such as the Entrepreneurship MBA Program. If the Silberman College of Business’ Entrepreneurship MBA Program targeted students that were involved with the University Partnership Program, they would be able to establish a connection with potential students that no other program has before. By establishing this connection the Entrepreneurship MBA Program enrollment could significantly increase.

Positioning Statement: 

Positioning Statement To University Partnership Program Students, the Entrepreneurship MBA Program is the bridge to achieving their graduate degree because of its ability to teach them business from a more personalized perspective which will allow them to be more successful in their future endeavors.

Tactics: 

Tactics Definition: Meet Fairleigh Dickinson’s Entrepreneurship MBA Program.

Scope: 

Scope This multimedia presentation would basically be a large picture that would be available when clicking the “Meet Fairleigh Dickinson’s Entrepreneurship MBA Program” on the existing Entrepreneurship MBA Program webpage. This very simple picture would show a group of several different people interacting together. Their attire and the way in which they were interacting would help individualize them as different parts of this program. When hovering the mouse over each individual in the picture one of the following cues would appear.

“Meet the Director” “Meet the Professor” “Meet the Current Student” “Meet and Entrepreneurship MBA Alumni” After clicking on each particular picture a video would appear showing each individual giving his or her particular insight on the program. This could even be taken a step farther by having commonly asked questions listed below each video that would link to that person answering each of the individual questions.

Purpose: 

Purpose By using this multimedia presentation potential students would have the opportunity to virtually meet the people that they would be interacting with if they were enrolled in this program. We can all say as people that have attended programs in the past, that we would love to actually hear from people that have truly experienced, or are experiencing the program on a daily basis. Using a tool like this would give the Entrepreneurship Program a huge advantage in attracting potential students.

Comments It would be quite difficult to have each one of the individuals that were mentioned above to take the time to talk to individual students or even large groups of students at some of the satellite schools that the University Partnership Programs are held. By using this tool a far greater audience can be reached over and over again. After using the University Partnership Program students as a pilot program for this idea, it could be used to reach many different people all over the country.

Comments Continued One of the best ways to take advantage of this idea would be to offer the “Meet Fairleigh Dickinson’s Entrepreneurship Program” link which would take you to a blog dedicated to this idea on social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter. Of course, it would be very important that both Fairleigh Dickinson, and the University Partnership Program were actively using these social media sites.

Timing: 

Timing In terms of timing, launching this site several months prior to any start of a new semester would be ideal. With the changes in the ways that students are able to take classes all year round, this idea could be viable at any time during the year. It would be especially appropriate to target students that were finishing up their bachelor’s degree, which would allow a smooth transition to achieving their graduate degree.

Conclusion: 

Conclusion By creating an experience to virtually meet the people involved with this excellent MBA Program, potential students will feel more comfortable and secure in the possibility of enrolling in this unique opportunity.
