Video Editing :

Video Editing The process of editing : segments of motion video footage special effects sound recordings. FILM=Videos+sounds+Effects

What is VFX? :

What is VFX? a category of special effects in which images or film frames are created and manipulated for film and video. integration of live-action footage with computer generated imagery.

Types Of VFX :

Types Of VFX Visual effects may be divided into at least four categories: Models: miniature sets and models, animatronics, stop motion animation. Matte paintings and stills: digital or traditional paintings or photographs which serve as background plates for keyed or rotoscoped elements. Live-action effects: keying actors or models through bluescreening and greenscreening. Digital animation: computer graphics lighting, texturing, and rendering computer-generated 3D characters, particle effects, digital sets, backgrounds.

VFX Techniques :

Terms :

Terms Chroma keying is a technique for compositing two images or frames together in which a color image is removed (transparent) revealing another image behind it Rotoscoping is an animation technique in which animators trace over live-action film movement, frame by frame, for use in animated films

Slide 10:

Motion control photography : It is a technique used in still and motion photography that enables precise control of, and optionally also allows repetition of, camera movements. Morphing: is a special effect in motion pictures and animations that changes (or morphs) one image into another through a seamless transition Mattes are used in photography and special effects filmmaking to combine two or more image elements into a single, final image. Usually, mattes are used to combine a foreground image

Challenges for VFX :

Challenges for VFX We will able to build virtual human. We will able to create believable facial animation. We will able to create synthetic massive environments. Pipeline tools will be standardized. Advances in digital VFX animation will mean far less physical effects work. Movie/game conversion will become common.

Detriments of VFX :

Detriments of VFX Specific hardware and special programs are required to obtain and process the data. The cost of the software, equipment and personnel required can potentially be prohibitive for small productions. Movement that does not follow the laws of physics generally cannot be captured. If the computer model has different proportions from the capture subject, artifacts may occur.
