But remember the wolf will still be out there. Who knows what he’s up too. Red went down to the garage and got her bike out, pretended to check her bike and the biking journey to granny’s house had begun . What has Red forgotten? To be safe on a bike what should Red do before setting off to granny’s house?PowerPoint Presentation: As Red was riding down the steep path she felt the birds and all the other creatures of the forest were warning her about one of the wolfs cunning new plans. At the bottom she yelled “you better not be up to anything mischievous. I can notice anything you’ve done.” ”Oh yeah” the wolf yelled back ”bet ya you can’t” “bet y a I can” snapped back red finishing the conversation What should Red look out for while riding?PowerPoint Presentation: Red continued her ride to granny’s house and nicely said “hello” to all the small animals she went past. She soon made the journey successful by making it to granny’s house. She locked up her bike got the things she brought with her out of her pretty little basket. On the front it said “Safer journeys for kids” [This was her most favourite part of the bike] and knocked on the door. ‘Who’s there’ came a voice from inside the house.PowerPoint Presentation: She opened the door to see granny walking on her own two small feet. Meanwhile outside the wolf had just started undoing the brakes on Red’s bike. He then took off one of Red’s pedals, then the chain. Inside Red and Granny were having banana cake with chocolate icing and homemade lemonade (without sugar). They started playing a game of snap.PowerPoint Presentation: When the wolf heard Red saying goodbye to her granny he had just loosened the seat. When Red got outside she jumped on her bike without checking and rod off towards her house. Half way down the track there was a very steep hill, almost vertical and four metres down. She slammed on her brakes but she found it wasn’t connected and the chain fell off.PowerPoint Presentation: Red suspected the wolf but the problem still remained – how was she going to stop. Red finally started to slow down but she was still quite fast. Once she made it out of the woods she started going round in circles trying desperately to slow down and then she remembered the old trampoline and headed into the garage.PowerPoint Presentation: She purposely crashed into the old trampoline and sprang back onto the floor with two or three bruises. Red’s mother heard the crash and ran in with a first aid kit. When she saw the state of Red’s bike she growled her for not checking her bike.PowerPoint Presentation: Red tried to blame the wolf of undoing everything even though she knew she had only pretended to check her bike. So Red promised that she would check her bike properly. Mum from then on made sure she checked her bike. Do you think you know what you should do to ride safely? Click on the arrow to take a quiz.
