Well it’s that time of year again; how did that happen ? Let’s see, another eventful year. Some good – some not so good. In June Dick and I flew to Iowa to spend some family time with his 92 year old mother , Clara and sister and brother-in-law. JIM JEAN TERRY DICK GRANDMA . .

Did you know that Allegiant Airlines has a direct flight from Orlando to Cedar Rapids, Iowa? Amazing! Anyway we had a wonderful time, brought them some great Orlando weather and ate and drank to our heart’s content. Even though Clara was confined to a wheel chair, we were able to enjoy our time together playing cribbage and going out to dinner. . The Turner family farm near Arlington, IA. Iowa corn Florida weather! A great combination. .

We were also happy that Dick’s son Bill was able to get down from St Paul, MN with his two beautiful daughters (Andrea 13 years and Natalie 10) They brought their adorable shih tzu “Gummy” with them – so cute. It’s one of our “grand dogs” but we do have 3 “grand cats ” that Terry adores! . . .

Talking about grandchildren; we went to Charlotte for Christmas last year and were able to spend time with both of Dick’s daughters and their families. Lanese has 2 adorable little girls – now 1 and 4 and Sharon has a stepson and 2 adopted little girls. JR was able to join us from Colorado so we had a real family Christmas, it even snowed all Christmas Day! . Mike,Ashlee,Lanese,Chloe Autumn,Sharon , Sami J.R. and Terry

A little update on JR. He has moved to Charlotte from Colorado Springs, Colorado . Seems he was really homesick for lots of close family. So now he has everything he wanted and more ! Sharon is good enough to let him live with her while he gets his act together (which we hope is soon!) He now has a beautiful girlfriend, his very own cat and doing telephone support work from home. Unfortunately in July, just a month later, Clara had a stroke and died a few days later. We are thankful that we were able to have such a great visit with her right before her passing and that Dick was able to go back and attend the funeral. Dick’s sister Jean did a great job with the arrangements. .

In September we celebrated our 30 th Anniversary! We kept it simple and spent a long weekend over in Daytona Beach enjoying the ocean and some fine food and drink. In March Dick did a 5K run and actually finished it!! .

Terry is still working at Wyndham– 1.5 years already almost record breaking. Of course with the economy the way it is sales are slow but they have good benefits! Dick is still working in Real Estate which is still very slow. He has changed companies and is now working for Engel & Voelkers, a German company in hopes of attracting some overseas buyers. We are still living in the same home in Apopka, FL and we still have our great friends here so life is pretty good overall. Now that we have three children and 4 granddaughters in the Charlotte, NC area. we are looking forward to Christmas in N.C. this year, and to staying at Mike and Lanese’s new home. .
