There is more then 100 gangs around the world. Each gang has many clicks and they all have beef with other gangs. Every gang has their own hand sign and each gang member has their hood or gang tatted on their body.Slide 4: 38 st gang Founded in the 1920s, the 38th Street gang dates back to the Pachucos and zoot suits and was formed in the borderline between South Central and the city of Vernon.Slide 5: Since the 1920s, the 38th Street gang has continued its criminal activities and has evolved to become one of California's most violent street gangs. They conduct various activities including drug sales, murder, theft and vandalism. In the late 1980s and early 1990s the city closed many of its roads in the 38th street vicinity; due to high volume of people that were coming to purchase narcotics in the area.Vatos Locos: Vatos Locos Vatos Locos are down posted in E ast L os Angeles. It was made back in the 19 hundredths. Originally a Mexican gang, the Vatos Locos have broken the racial barrier that many of the common street gangs today have.Latin kings: Latin kings The Latin Kings are a predominatly Hispanic gang, with many Puerto Ricans involved in it. Unlike many gangs who have many leaders in different factions, the Latin Kings are united under a single leader. LK has also broken the racial barrier, just like Mara Salvatrucha and the 18th Street Gang.Slide 8: Latin Kings associating with the Motherland faction also identify themselves as "Almighty Latin King Nation (ALKN)," and make up more than 160 structured chapters operating in 158 cities in 31 states. The membership of Latin Kings following KMC is estimated to be 20,000 to 35,000. The Bloodline was founded by Luis Felipe in the New York State correctional system in 1986. Latin Kings associating with Bloodline also identify themselves as the "Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation (ALKQN)." Membership is estimated to be 2,200 to 7,500,Mara Salvatrucha aka Miembro Satanico: Mara Salvatrucha aka M iembro S atanico The Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front, whose members were called Salvatruchos or Surenos, and the group called Mara created MS-13 for means of protection. In the beginning, only Salvadorians could join Mara Salvatrucha. But over time, MS broke the racial barrier and now it includes members from all over Central America.Slide 10: The first large population of El Salvadorian refuges settled in the Rampart area of Los Angeles. This influence of immigrants looking for low cost housing and employment was not readily welcomed by the Mexican-American population who were already residing in that area. The area was already plagued with gangs and crime.Florence 13: Florence 13 The Florence 13 Gang derives its name from their original stomping grounds of Florence Avenue and the overall Community of Florence in South Los Angeles. Florencia allegedly started near Florence and Atlantic. Florencia 13 has been rumored to have claimed the entire stretch of Florence Avenue from Inglewood to Santa Fe Spring. Initials: F13, FX3, EFE13, EFEX3, SSF13Slide 12: Florencia 13 Area Code: 213, Bandana Color: Blue, Logo: F Florencia 13 Hand Sign: Right hand Index finger bent at the knuckle, Middle, Ring and Pinky fingers straight, thumb extended to form an F hand facing down. Left Hand Ring finger bent at the knuckle all other fingers extended hand/fingers facing up, palm facing the body.Mexican Mafia : Mexican Mafia The Mexican Mafia originated in the mid-1950s at the Duel Vocational Institute in Tracy, California. Dedication was usually proven by how many assaults they had engaged in.Playboys : Playboys the playboys were started in the westside of los angeles , around the pico and fedora area in the early 1960's. originally the playboys were a car club, but a few young homeboys made it in to the ws playboys 13 gang, this was prior to the stoner movement of the mid 1970's. in the 1960's and 1970's there were only a few varrios in the westside , for instance; harpys13, drifters13, eighteen st , clanton 14st, rockwood13, to name a few.Slide 16: the eastside playboys were almost brought to a stand still for the massicare of three rival members of the 55st bunch gang. the three rival were found in an alley on 53st and san pedro , shot exicution style in the back of the head. the newton police dept and the fbi hot on the trail, raided houses, aressted , and convicted one playboy member. the gun slinging days of the 80' and 90's are gone but the reputation of the playboys brutality has always stuck. many tagbangers and new barrios claim to be locos, but the reality is that most new barrios don't last more than 5 years. playboys has been standing strong for over 40 years. many barrios have come and gone through out the years, but playboys gang has survived, even with the gang injunction, playboys members are still holding strong. there are around 800-1000 active playboys members form the east, west, and southside .Surenos 13: Surenos 13 A detailed look inside one of Americas most dangerous street gang alliances. Sureños are an alliance of hundreds of individual Mexican American street gangs that originated in Southern California. They are mostly found in Los Angeles and San Diego, but have spread significantly and can be found throughout much of the united states. Sureños represent themselves with symbols and phrases such as “Sur 13″, “Los Sureños” and “Sureño Trece”. These identifications are accompanied by the color blue, numeric code of number 13 and the Roman numeral of XIII .Slide 18: Sureños are controlled and influenced by the Mexican Mafia, a Mexican-American prison gang. The Mexican Mafia was formed in the late 1950s by Chicano street gang members incarcerated at the Deuel Vocational Institution, a youth offender facility located in Tracy, California. A member of these gangs is a Norteño male or Norteña female based on Spanish usage. Northern Californians who are not gang members, but feel a strong cultural affiliation with others in Northern California, may also refer to themselves as Norteños Norteñas or simply Northerners.Slide 20: The traditional rivals of the Norteños are the Sureños Southerners. The statewide dividing line between Norteños and Sureños has roughly been accepted as the rural community of Delano, California. Norteños may refer to Northern California as Norte, Spanish for north. Any suggestion of a peace treaty between these two gangs, similar to that of Blood- Crip in the early 1990s, holds no weight with Norteños and Sureños in California.Avalon gangsta crips: Avalon gangsta crips The Avalon Gangster Crips are an Afro-American street gang founded in 1972 by Jamel “The God Father” Barnes east of the 110 Freeway in South Central, LosAngeles . Away from all the grafitti , & guns, & drugs, and gang tattoos on hands and necks. I want to start over clean and fresh, take myself & my family far away. From constant police harrasment , & gang confrontation, I have to deal with day to day. Heavenly father please give me, strength & courage to get away from here.
