How Dillinger Got Caught -Anna Sage, contacted the police. She was a Romanian immigrant threatened with deportation and offered the federal agency information on Dillinger in exchange for their help in preventing her deportation. The agency agreed to her terms -She told the police that Dillinger had been spending time with a prostitute named Polly Hamilton. Anna told the police that she would be wearing an orange dress (appeared red under light) and would be going to the movie theatre the following day with Dillinger, Polly and Anna.

How Dillinger Got Caught Cont’d -The FBI and police waited outside of the “ biograph theatre” for Dillinger. The cue that Dillinger was coming out of the theatre was for one of the officers to light a cigar. After lighting the cigar Dillinger looked back at the agent and walked ahead and away from the female companions. He then headed into the street and pulled out a gun and was quickly shot by several agents from behind.
