Hutchinson Slide 2: One morning from a doorway I felt a forgotten joy as I watched a small child at play. Slide 3: She was sitting by a window reaching out trying to catch particles in a sunshine ray. Slide 4: When she rose she began to twirl scattering the sunshine particles with glee, Slide 5: She made believe they were twinkling stars falling down fast and free. Slide 6: She talked to herself as she caught her treasures and she put them in her pocket, Slide 7: As she reached out again she whispered, this special star I will keep in my locket. Slide 8: She saw me watching her and she smiled, but kept on spinning, scattering particles in the wind. Slide 9: I smiled back at her and left quickly. She was so cute and funny, reaching out for stars in her world of pretend. Slide 10: From there I went to see a dear old friend she too was sitting by a window with particles streaming, Slide 11: She was reaching out trying to catch them in the rays of sunshine that were beaming. Slide 12: In her own world she sang and talked to herself as she reached out into the sunshine rays. Slide 13: As I spoke to her she did not see nor hear me, her face was set with a transfixed gaze Slide 14: As I watched her it was not cute nor funny, it seemed as if she had aged too quickly and now her mind was gone. Slide 15: But as I thought back to the little girl playing , just maybe I could be partly wrong. Slide 16: As we go through childhood, most of the things we remember are family, gifts, joy and pleasure. Slide 17: As we get older, a friend or loved one may lock away their memories of life’s secrets and treasure. Slide 18: Tears ran down my face and I ached with sadness for my dear friend as I watched her childlike play. Slide 19: I prayed that in her mind she too had kept a locket filled with particle stars, to remember again one day. Slide 20: Had she been happy or sad. what had caused her pain that closed her mind. Now childlike she sits in humiliation. Slide 21: With love, we need to reach out to others, the childlike ones too; as we are all particles of Gods creation. In remembrance of a dear friend. : In remembrance of a dear friend. Linda J.
