Causes
The British deposed a huge number of traditional ruling classes,the zamindars or the nobles and a number of people who were theor dependents.
Effects
The discontentment and the poverty provoked people to revolt against the Britishers.
But unfortunately these revolts were localised and were easily suppressed.
Spread of the REVOLT ….. :
Spread of the REVOLT ….. The catridge of the guns was greased with the fat of cows and pigs which really hurt the sentiments of poor Indians.
Mangal Pandey refused to use such weapons and was arrested.This was the turning point in history of India.
At once a revolt arose in Meerut and in no time spread to othe rparts of the country.
