Slide 1:Teaser Research Hot Fuzz Hot fuzz http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kckt9sqz1p4 this trailer has about 24 seconds of footage before it speeds up the pace and lots of shots flash past of action and explosions, after these faced pace action shots it then says “coming soon” the classic convention of a teaser trailer. This trailer has 27 shots, this goes with the action genre with lots of quick changes.


Slide 2:Terminator Salvation Terminator salvation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYc3vOmof_8 this trailer has some very clever special effects, I thought that the transitions form each shot to the next were very much like a failing computer screen, and if you have seen the other terminator films they look like the terminator’s vision.


Slide 3:Eagle Eye Eagle eye http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrLMlC-q3kg is a strange teaser as it has a date at the end instead of coming soon, however I like the sound bridge at the start and its use of todorov.


Slide 4:Eagle Eye Oceans 13 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvvvS9YGzTI has a sound bridge and has running commentary through the trailer and is mainly an excuse to show off the cast, however I did like the titles as they really fit the music and feel of the film.


Slide 5:The Bank Job The bank job http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9CcSXIQdpE has some very good split screen action showing you what each of the robbers is doing, however this trailer does go on for longer than we are allowed and it shows a date at the end.


Slide 6:Alien Alien http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NFHqpdoMZs has a very short teaser which gives nothing away at all, it has a commentary but even that gives no plot away what so ever, this teaser is very secretive and misleading I thought having seen the film.


Slide 7:The mummy tomb of the dragon emperor The mummy tomb of the dragon emperor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4N16ZGBnDU has commentary and titles and plays heavily on the idea of the other mummy films, I thought this trailer was odd as it gave away a lot of the story and was quite long.


Slide 8:Alice in wonder land http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hetMTyBCnd0 has a very interesting trailer as it has many references is titles and dates to the film such as the date turning into the Cheshire cat and the “you’ve got a very important date” however this trailer didn’t work for me as I think they have ruined what was a classic animation. Alice in wonder land


Slide 9:Toy story 3 Toy story 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roADdYWAv4A&feature=channel has a trailer which has no film footage in it, this idea of teasers I think can be very good, this teaser couldn’t be anything but toy story as it has the classic woody-buzz relationship of getting one up on each other that has been in all the other toy story films.


Slide 10:The dark knight The dark knight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWtoAaM_Y14&feature=related is quite a mysterious trailer which is entirely graphical. It shows a dark screen with occasional lights shooting towards the screen showing the batman symbol imprinted against the lights. The production logos are silver and very low key looking, this stays with the theme of the film. The batman logo ends up being destroyed by an explosion which turned out to be where the lights were coming from and as the debris shoots towards the screen a joker card appears in them. I liked this trailer because without doing much at all it is easily recognisable as batman and even tells you who he is fighting.
