PRESENT PERFECT We use the present perfect: for actions which happened at an unstated indefinite time in the past. The exact time is not important. My parents have bought a new horse. ( When did they buy it? We don’t know when; the time is not mentioned.) Jack has been to London twice. (When? We don’t know.)
