THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR:

THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR Among the Jews taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon in his second invasion of Judah (597 BCE) was a man named Ezekiel. Daniel had been taken captive in an earlier invasion (606 BCE).

THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR:

THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR Ezekiel was to be the prophet to the Jews in exile , while Daniel served as God’s ambassador to the court of the king. Ezekiel, like Jeremiah, was a priest as well as a prophet (1:3). He was 30 years of age when he began in prophetic ministry to the Jews (1:1).

THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR:

THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR Ezekiel’s name means “God strengthens.” The author of the book can be none other than Ezekiel. Seventy times we read the central message of the Lord in this Book and it is: “They shall know that I am the Lord.” (Ex.: 6:7, verses 10, 13, 14; 7:4, verses 9 and 27, etc.

THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR:

THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR Ezekiel had been captive in Babylon five years when he began prophesying (1:2). For six years he told of the coming fall of Jerusalem, and this takes up one-half of the Book – 24 Chapters.
