Removal Of Smog For Rapidifying Transportation Using Ultrasonic Waves SC i NNOVATION’11 The Skywalkers… Mapping The Skies Debraj Roy (B.Tech, MAE, Iind Sem) Sachin Srivastava (B.Tech, MAE, Iind Sem)

INTRODUCTION:

INTRODUCTION Who isn’t affected from poor transportation during the winters? Sitting in the railway stations & airports for hours & watching the display showing accommodation delayed.. . In recent years, we have noticed use of ultrasonic waves in cleaning purposes. My thought is somewhat related to this point.

Ultra Sonic Waves:

Ultra Sonic Waves For years, we have come across various applications of ultrasonic waves; let it be SONAR for ships, metal flaw detection system for industries or let it be in the field of biology for noticing the development of foetus. Ultrasonic Waves : - Starting from the basics... “Ultra” means “beyond” & “sonic” means “sound”. These waves are basically longitudinal sound waves of frequency of 16 kHz which are not audible for us.

PRINCIPLE PHENOMENA:

PRINCIPLE PHENOMENA ULTRASONIC SCRUBBING- If the high frequency & high energy carrying energy waves are subjected onto the smoke or fog or haze surrounding the transport system then these waves would coagulate the dust and other particulate matter into heavier lumps which would subsequently settle down while the simultaneous conversion of dense fog to vapours could be achieved which simply serves our purpose of rapidifying the transport process.

WHAT ARE THE COMPONENTS REQUIRED??? :

WHAT ARE THE COMPONENTS REQUIRED??? * Piezoelectric unit – for the generation of electricity by harnessing the energy present within the system of vehicles. * Storage Unit – for storing of energy in D. C. Form so can use rectifier if necessary & amplifier circuit if less stress is obtained.

Slide 6:

Inverse Piezoelectric Unit – for producing the ultrasonic waves when electricity would be subjected on it. SAW unit – for proper transmission of USW to the fog & smoke to achieve maximum efficiency

ELEMENTS OF DEVICE:

ELEMENTS OF DEVICE PIZEO-ELECTRIC GENERATOR FOR ENERGY INPUT FOR RECTILINEAR PROPAGATION OF USW GENERATED

HOW IT WORKS ???:

HOW IT WORKS ??? Trains have heavy & strong magnets which drag the bogeys across the tracks. Placing the piezoelectric material would generate potential difference due to the mechanical stress between the magnets. Storing this voltage generated & then directing it upon another piezoelectric material would generate USW (upto 500 Mhz).

Slide 9:

In aeroplanes , the rotor blades perform the same task as the magnets in between the train bogeys. On rotation of rotor blades the subsequent pressurizing of piezo-material causes electricity. The Ultrasonic waves would then cause coagulation of particulate matter & thus the smoke & dust would become heavier & simultaneously the high energy would cause the fog with water content to vaporise. The reduced fog improves transport system.

LIMITATIONS:

LIMITATIONS Deposition of clustered particulate matter formed due to ultrasonic scrubbing. It causes in a way pollution. Excessive frequency of USW causes cloud bursts due to high energy rise in clouds in quick succession. It may be harmful for the animals due to high tone. Proper dimensions of crystal especially if Quartz is used so that potential difference can be developed between the surface of the material properly.

PROPOSED MODEL FOR THE IDEA:

PROPOSED MODEL FOR THE IDEA

FUTURE APPLICATIONS:

FUTURE APPLICATIONS Rapid transport systems, both railways & airways with reduced delays & possibility of overcoming losses due to poor weather. Reduced air pollution as the smoke & dust can be coagulated & it can be somehow disposed of later on.

RESULT & SUMMARY:

RESULT & SUMMARY A noble method for harnessing the trains energy to run a device capable of coagulating the particulate matter for clearing the smog from nearby surroundings for rapidifying transport systems is been suggested
