T he stage of Innovation submitted: PROTOTYPE Our idea has taken shape into a prototype/ model. A general outlook of the website has been created, coded in HTML using JavaScript Language. It is a suggestion on how raksha.com will work for the upliftment of the society and the public services. The screen shots are displayed in the following slides. Idea Prototype Established Scaling

The Innovation- raksha.com Summary of the innovation : Chosen industry: Public Services Chosen technology: Social Media Objective: raksha.com’s main objective is to help the public in dire circumstances. In case of an emergency (natural calamities/terror attacks/health issues), this social networking site works best to give life to many in the shortest time span. Approach: Coded in HTML using JavaScript Language. The backend can be given using Oracle aided with Tomcat 5.5 Server. Description: raksha.com is a public social networking site aimed at being a helping hand to millions. We can all unite and help each other in times of need, both financially and medically. A user having a raksha account can have acquaintances with NGOs benefitting the orphans, the old and the blind. It gives the user instant updates in the form of ‘no-reply’ emails & sms about the various posts uploaded on the site timely. This propels the user to view the case on the site and lend a helping hand. Let the case be that of a terror attack/natural calamity/blood & organ donation, all the raksha users are intimated within seconds and the transactions are made to help the needy. Money can be donated online through this site using your credit card. Organ & blood donation can be made easy by finding the donors instantly. raksha.com , if brought to the fore front will definitely help the public greatly.

Compelling need for the innovation raksha.com At present, there is no social networking site where public services lending ‘help’ are targeted. Our innovation, raksha.com revolves around the noble deeds what mankind can do to uplift the health & wealth of the society. Till date, whenever there is an outburst of a natural calamity/terror attack, people are confined to their houses watching the news and just praying for the victims. But if the same time goes in helping the families of the victims financially and socially, what better can the society get! The future of the nation lies in the eyes of every child. Every person is special. The importance of NGOs serving the old, orphans & blind has been taking a down scale off late. There is a need for the public to be aware of the child welfare schemes and the events for the blind and the old. raksha.com is the best platform for the same. Health is Wealth! People shunt hither & thither in search of a donator for either blood or organ donation. Many lives are in jeopardy because of lack of blood/organ donation in time. raksha.com is a life savior! Our innovation raksha.com is a mélange of all the public services which can be rendered in dire circumstances, helping the masses, increasing the need of the site a great deal!

Impact:

Impact Being an active user of this social networking site, we can leave a marked impact on the social and economical upliftment of the society. The victims can be helped instantly both financially & socially. This will unite the masses and increase brotherhood amongst millions. This website being public to all, has no specific ‘friends’ or ‘friend requests’ sent to people. Any raksha user can directly post his/her problem and gain help from any other raksha user, whether he/she is a relative or not. This leaves a marked impact on the unity of the people, saving the lives of many! The metrics used to balance the interest of the users are to update the latest news time-to-time using the ‘no-reply’ email format. Even if the raksha user doesn’t login to the site daily, he/she will definitely check emails, thereby increasing the importance of the site. The success of the innovation is achieved when this site is accessed by all and every human in need is helped in dire circumstances. This method doesn’t prevail presently. If it is implemented, it will be a big success! The idea will sustain over time by the constant updates and wide-spread users of raksha.com .

Implementation:

Implementation This suggested prototype can be easily implemented and run efficiently. The feasible timeline for developing this project can be 1 month. The amalgamation of the skills of both the developers and testers can get this project running in no time. The possible budget v estimate for this social networking website can range from 3 lakhs-3.5 lakhs as skilled expertise is required to build the same. The potential challenges that this site can face are the t imely updations of the news second by second. This can be achieved by having a number of developers having complete knowledge of what is going on in the world and updating the latest updates page accordingly. Handling the statuses of the users and overloading of the server can be a major problem as many users can access the site at the same time. This problem can be abated by using a higher version of the Tomcat 6 server which enables the users to access and transact successfully. The working/implementation of this site is as illustrated in the following slides.

The Competitive Advantage The main advantage of raksha.com is that it is a ‘helping hand’ in dire circumstances. We have social networking sites to connect to people we know like facebook , orkut , twitter, but we do not have a site dedicated to humanity and charity. This is the best prototype to enhance public awareness improving public services and uplifting the society both financially and aesthetically. Secondly, the search space can be narrowed down to a great extent. We only have websites giving information about the various blood/organ donation centers and the NGOs, but this site also enables the users to perform transactions. There is no such site dealing with the natural disasters/terror attacks. Raksha.com bridges this gap and improves the stature of the society. Our prototype has no patents. Once implemented accordingly as mentioned according to the model, this website will take great leaps and bounds!
