The Innovation:

The Innovation Chosen industry : Public Services Chosen technologies: Mobility Objective : The project aims in providing a user friendly, reliable and automated water pumping sytem for farmers. Approach :Bluetooth controlled mobile application for controlling water pumps used in irrigation Innovation developed: Making the the use of bluetooth technology present in mobiles to operate the water pumps having microcontroller with class 1 bluetooth device attached to it. Maximum Points: 10

Compelling need for the innovation:

Compelling need for the innovation Now a day’s technology is running with time and has completely occupied the lifestyle of human beings. Even though there is importance for technology in routine life , there are people like farmers whose lifestyles are very far from this well known term technology but the term mobile phone is not new to them and they are quite acquainted with it. So it is our responsibility to design few reliable systems which can be even efficiently used by them. As in today’s scenario mobile phones with simple graphical user interfaces and bluetooth technology are available at a reasonable cost and also each and every person even farmers have access to it. This basic idea gave birth to the project construction of mobile operated and bluetooth controlled water pumps. Thus, introducing the automation technology into the lives of farmer. Maximum Points: 20

Impact:

Impact As water pumps have to be monitored continuously ,this automation process will help in increasing farmers efficiency in monitoring them and help them in controlling multiple water pumps simultaneously just at the touch of one button . Maximum Points: 30

Implementation:

Implementation HARDWARE REQUIRED 1.Mobile phone with Bluetooth technology 2.Microcontroller 3.Class 1 bluetooth device 4.Power Supply This automation process will make the use of simple mobile application which will use bluetooth technology to interact with microcontroller installed in the water pumps to turn them on and off . This microcontroller would consist of connection with a class 1 bluetooth device which will receive commands from the application operated by farmer and instruct the microcontroller. The required application can be made as a stock application in the mobile phones given to the farmers. Maximum Points: 50
