The Innovation:

The Innovation Summary of the innovation needs to cover the following titles: Chosen industry: Public Services Chosen technologies: Analytics Objective: To generate Wind Power using the force thrown by train. Approach: The perpendicular direction of movement of train, there is a huge force thrown by train, in the form of wind. We can feel the amount of force if we are waiting at platform or near to railway track. That wind power thrown by train forces us backward direction. Now this wind energy could be used to generate wind power. This would be unlimited source of power, because assume the railway tracks we have in our country and number of trains passing by them. Though I agree this would be small amount of energy because we can not use bigger wind turbines but using smaller turbines (scaling with height of train), but can be used in series to add power generated from each turbines.

Compelling need for the innovation:

Compelling need for the innovation - It is about generating electricity, which is the biggest requirement for any developing country. - Compared to the environmental impact of traditional energy sources, the environmental impact of wind power is relatively minor in terms of pollution. Wind power consumes no fuel, and emits no air pollution , unlike fossil fuel power source - Wind power hardly ever suffers major technical failures, since failures of individual wind turbines have hardly any effect on overall power, so that the distributed wind power is highly reliable and predictable - Wind speeds can be accurately forecast because we are aware of schedules of trains, and hence wind is a predictable source of power for feeding into an electrical grid. - Wind power, as an alternative to fossil fuels , is plentiful, renewable , widely distributed, clean , produces no greenhouse gas emissions during operation and uses little land. The effects on the environment are generally less problematic than those from other power sources.

Impact:

Impact - With my idea , we can generate huge amount of electricity, which is desired and with economical advantages, and Wind power, as an alternative to fossil fuels , is plentiful, renewable , widely distributed, clean , produces no greenhouse gas emissions during operation and uses little land. The effects on the environment are generally less problematic than those from other power sources. - It can provide huge number of employment also, - And most important we can use the speed of train and wind energy thrown by it which is totally wastage nowadays. - We can generate something very useful, with a wastage. - Specially we are facing electricity issue near villages and farms for agriculture activity. These trains passes near by these area, so we can provide electricity to them also. - considering small scale development of my idea can generate energy to provide electricity at railway station.

Implementation:

Implementation - Wind power stations need to set once then, only have to maintain. - Railway has capacity and potential to develop and maintain this. - Can be used personally, we can give license of area to private sectors also. - Timeline and Budget depends upon the amount of development of project. - At platform only this would be difficult to maintain and speed also gets slowdown there, so we can implement this some distance later to station and with all the way where train is passing by. - Higher distance trains don’t stop at smaller stations, so at smaller station this would be very fruitful. The Competitive Advantage:

The Competitive Advantage The biggest advantage of my project is that there is no such thing in at least India, As per my knowledge and understanding. Source of my idea is my experience- I was travelling by train waiting at a station and I could feel that wind energy, then during the journey only I could see some wind power station but they were very large. I had some projects generating wind power in school, so if we can generate electricity with a sample wind turbine (smaller one) to on a bulb then this wind power which we are expecting from trains would be good amount of electricity source. Yes I would like to patent my idea. Maximum Points: 30
