Leonard Bernstein He lived from August 25 th , 1918 to October 14 th , 1990. He was born in Lawrence Massachusetts. He went to Harvard. Wrote recorded over 400 compositions, more than half were with the New York Philharmonic. He was the first American to conduct an opera at Teatro Alla Scala in Milan. He had his own music in “The Birds”. His most famous work is “West Side Story”
