Slide 4: One day she seemed especially mean when she came up to me. She sneered, “Hey Jenny, I don’t like that Sally” Slide 5: Or the way she climbs up trees!” Slide 6: She wanted me to tell a tale about Sally, and I knew it wasn’t true. Slide 7: Well, that is just something that I could NEVER do! Slide 8: Mindy ordered: “DO IT, OR WE’LL NO LONGER BE FRIENDS!!!” Slide 9: Well I knew right there and then that’s when our friendship was going to end! Slide 10: I pondered and wondered the reasons why Mindy would want to spread such a lie. Slide 11: Did it make her feel good to make someone else cry? What was making Mindy so mean??? Was there some trouble at home that I hadn’t seen? Slide 12: Could it be that Mindy had been the victim of a lie someone told about her that made her cry! Slide 13: Was it that Mindy was so insecure she thought making another feel bad would be a good cure? Or maybe it was just that old green-eyed monster inside that made her so jealous she wanted to lie! Slide 14: Sure Sally was friendly, happy and zealous… but that’s not a good reason to make someone else jealous! Slide 15: Yes I REFUSED to tell that lie about Sally and so... Mindy decided it was me she would show. Slide 16: She made up rotten stories about me to tell all my friends, and believe me when I say that’s where I wish this story would end. Slide 17: At recess when I would want to join in and have fun,it was away from me that all my friends would run, and at every other opportunity it seemed I was shunned. Slide 18: Mindy cackled that I was clumsy because I have BIG FEET, then one day in Art class she put paint on my seat! Slide 19: I was wearing a new skirt my grandma had just made: Pretty roses and dots on a blue of the loveliest shade. Slide 20: I got up to leave wondering but not knowing why the snickers, giggles and pointing were growing. Slide 21: I looked around closer and uttered, “Oh My!” Slide 22: They were pointing at me and when I found out why it made me so mad that I started to cry! Slide 23: On my new pretty blue skirt with the roses and dots… WAS AN ENORMOUS, UGLY COLORED PURPLE PAINT SPLOTCH! Slide 24: The art teacher came to my rescue by being so kind She said, “ Come with me, I just need to find some soap and water and we’ll have this clean in no time.” Slide 25: As she cleaned up my skirt and blotted it dry, “Tell me your story,” she said with a sigh. Telling an adult is the best thing to do if somebody is being super mean to you. So I told her my story right there where we sat… When I finished she said, “I think the answer to this problem is that Slide 26: “Mindy must learn to wear the other person’s hat. “Would she like to be called names like ‘ugly’ or ‘fat’? Or to have her friends treat her like that???” “ People have feelings that need to be spared, we will help Mindy learn it’s much better to care!” Slide 27: My friends told me that they were all sorry for listening to Mindy’s lies, and the counselor made Mindy apologize. Slide 28: We all decided it was really Mindy’s loss… Not to accept people because they have faults. Slide 29: As I always say, “The world would be a mighty boring place to be” “If everyone was perfect like me!” Slide 30: JUST KIDDING… Remember in addition to having had a PURPLE paint splotch on my seat, I AM A GIRL WITH REALLY BIG FEET!!! Slide 31: Mindy might have thought that she was being smart, but being a bully got Mindy kicked out of Art! Slide 32: The most important thing to know about all people that is true from the start, is what matters most is the good in their hearts. Slide 33: I hope that Mindy learns to look deep within to the good in her heart so our friendship can mend. You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
