Slide 3:

Billy had a problem. The problem was him. You see Billy didn’t know how to be a true friend.

Slide 4:

It all started one day when Billy felt mad.He picked on me, Frankie, and made me feel sad.

Slide 5:

Billy wanted me to perform a dangerous dare. I said, “No way, I could get hurt.” “And you know that’s not fair!” Billy said, “Do it or I won’t be your friend.” Well, I knew that’s where our friendship had to end.

Slide 6:

And it wasn’t just me... Oh no, that was just the start in Billy’s new efforts to show us he didn’t have a heart.

Slide 7:

I wondered and wondered what could be the reason, for all of that mean kind of picking and teasing???

Slide 8:

Could it be that somebody treated Billy that way, that he had been the victim of unfair play?

Slide 9:

Or maybe he lost at a game and got mad so he got a sick kind of pleasure out of making others feel bad. Was it that there were some problems at home, and Billy was lashing out because he felt all alone?

Slide 10:

You know, I use to think that Billy was my friend who lived down a few doors … but when he had other friends over it was me he ignored.

Slide 11:

I walked by his house once and I heard him say, “ Hey Frankie you can’t come over to play.” So I looked at him and said, “That’s OK,” “Because I really didn’t want to play today anyway.”

Slide 12:

He was playing with another one of our friends so I had kind of lied. You see what he said had really hurt me inside.

Slide 13:

Then one day at school in front of a crowd, Billy, on purpose, just shoved me right down! He stood over me with an awful smirk on his face and hollered at me, “I hope you’ve learned your place!”

Slide 14:

I wondered… Did it really make Billy feel cool…. To make me fall on the ground and feel like a fool?

Slide 15:

I was embarrassed but I had to stand my own ground and show Billy that he couldn’t push me around.

Slide 16:

Then something wonderful happened. Some other kids at the school came over to help me and that was really cool!

Slide 17:

Instead of laughing and pointing they lent me a hand, and I knew it was time for me to take a stand.

Slide 18:

I looked right at Billy and seriously exclaimed, “Hey, I don’t know what’s your problem,” “But there is not a big enough excuse on this earth to be seen,” “That makes up a good reason for you to be mean!”

Slide 19:

I dusted myself off and I walked away…. And actually had a pretty good day.

Slide 20:

So if you’ve ever been bullied and your day has turned sour; That’s just what they wanted so don’t give them that power!

Slide 21:

You see the problem is within the bully not you, so not letting it bother you is the best thing to do!

Slide 22:

Talking to an adult is a real must ... if someone is threatening or pushing you in the dust.

Slide 23:

So I told my teacher and she just said, “Maybe Billy doesn’t know any better up here in his head.”

Slide 24:

“We’ll have someone help him, and he will soon learn that people have feelings that shouldn’t be spurned.”

Slide 25:

Boy was I surprised to learn that even Billy didn’t know why it made him feel good to make other kids cry.

Slide 26:

If you have ever been a bully please don’t be so unjust… STOPPING this behavior is your very first must!!!

Slide 27:

If you are having troubles and want to lash out tell an adult you trust what the problem’s all about.

Slide 28:

It is never all right to make others feel bad just because you are feeling either sad or mad.

Slide 29:

So as the good person you are, take my advice... And choose to say, or do, nothing if it isn’t something nice!

Slide 30:

I think that Billy might have been looking for a way to get some attention. But being a bully got Billy detention!

Slide 31:

I hope Billy learns how to be a good friend. Then maybe someday our friendship can mend.

Slide 32:

The end.
