One cub survived and he managed to raise it to maturity. You can see how his family interacted with the bear as it matured. Look at the size he has grown to. The bear must feel he's another human (notice the honoured guest at Thanksgiving dinner) and t his is his "family". He's housebroken, very gentle and comes and goes as he desires.
