Facts about Saturn ★ Saturn has 62 moons 9 of them are not found yet. ★ Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun ★ Saturn is mostly a big ball of Hydrogen Helium Methane and Ammonia ★ Saturn is the name after the roman god Saturn ★ Saturn’s moons are Saturn’s brothers that followed him ★ Each Saturn year is about 29 Earth years ★ Each Saturn hour is about 10.7 Earth hours ★ The diameter of Saturn is 72000 miles 9 times the size of Earth ★ Saturn’s effective temperature is 288 degrees fahrenheit ★ Saturn is a gas giant and does not have a solid surface By: Bryan

slide 4:

Gases That Make Up Saturn Saturn is not solid like Earth but is instead a giant gas planet. It is made up of 94 hydrogen 6 helium and small amounts of methane and ammonia. Hydrogen and helium are what most stars are made of. It is thought that there might be a molten rocky core about the size of Earth deep within Saturn. By: Nyima Gases That Make Up Saturn

slide 5:

Can you live on Saturn Saturn has no surface so you cant live on Saturn. However it does have two moons that are rather hospitable - Titan and Enceladus. Titan is filled with all sorts of elements that are needed for life - in other words carbon nitrogen oxygen hydrogen and sulphur. By:Jasmine

slide 6:

Saturn’s Rings Saturn has four main groups of rings and three fainter narrower ring groups. These groups are separated by gaps called divisions. Close up views of Saturns rings by the Voyager spacecrafts which flew by them in 1980 and 1981 showed that these seven ring groups are made up of thousands of smaller rings. By:Lionel

Saturn’s Atmosphere Like the rest of the planet the atmosphere of Saturn is made up approximately 75 hydrogen and 25 helium with trace amounts of other substances like water ice and methane. By: Bryan

slide 9:

The Weather The Distance 1. -270 degrees Fahrenheit 2. When viewed through a telescope it is seen as a golden sphere crossed by a series of lightly colored bands parallel to the equator. Saturn is covered with a thick atmosphere made up of hydrogen and helium.. Saturns temperature is believed to be about -270 degrees Fahrenheit or -168 degrees Celsius. 3. Saturn is 900 million miles from the Sun 4. Saturn is 746 million miles from the Earth By:Lionel
