Distance and Temperature on Mars Mars is is 141.6 million miles from the sun and the Earth is 92.96 million miles the sun the Earth is just the right distance from the sun so its just the right temperature for each season. Since Mars is an irregular distance from the sun Mars has an irregular temperature for each season. In the winter on Mars the temperature can get as low as -195 degrees fahrenheit and in the summer it can get up to 70 degrees fahrenheit. On Earth the lowest temperature ever recorded is -95 degrees fahrenheit and in the summer the highest temperature ever recorded was 134 degrees fahrenheit. Which proves that Earth is just the right distance from the sun and Mars is more farther away from the sun That is why it takes 687 days or 669 sols martian days for it to rotate fully around the sun. It only takes 365 days to rotate around the sun for Earth Leandra

The Atmosphere of Mars Even though Mars atmosphere is 100 times thinner than Earth it is still thick enough to support weather clouds and winds. Just like Earth does. Here is a spread-out of it’s composition: ● Carbon dioxide: 95.32 percent ● Nitrogen: 2.7 percent ● Argon: 1.6 percent ● Oxygen: 0.13 percent ● Carbon monoxide: 0.08 percent ● Also minor amounts of: water nitrogen oxide neon hydrogen- deuterium-oxygen krypton and xenon Samuel

Water on Mars is really hard to seek or spot. It’s not as easy as it is on Earth. You’d have to dig through rocks or in the ground to find water on Mars and you might just get lucky which doesn’t happen often to find water on Mars. Alexa Water on Mars

Facts about Mars ● Mars weighs 1000000000000000000 pounds ● Mars has 2 moons named Phobos and Deimos. ● Like the rest of the planets in the solar system except Earth Mars is named after a mythological figure - the Roman god of war. ● In addition to its official name Mars is sometimes called the Red Planet because of the brownish-red color of its surface. ● Mars is the second biggest planet in the solar system behind Mercury.
