How will/should we measure our success time : 8. How will/should we measure our success time 9. Richard arrive et nous parle d’un livre Who’s got your back? Etre partie de la communauté à distance (continued) English translation Bernard explains that what’s important for him is to keep the “feeling” of what it’s like to be part of a community, similar to a family. Would we be able to maintain this connected feeling if we grow to 500 partners. Already in our busy lives which include work, family and volunteer work, there is little time to connect with others Bernard explains that by joining NuFocus, he increased the support and feeling part of a group which he did not have before when he had to depend on his rolodex on those days when it felt lonely or depressing. Louie worries that with his new assignment in his community position that he will lose touch with his friends at NuFocus; won’t be the same. 10. Helping the corporate structure become a community : 10. Helping the corporate structure become a community Initially Charline H. explains that she posted this topic to explore the question about creating a community in NuFocus Marketing that would be similar to what exists in NuFocus Strategic Group. She explains that she gets the opportunity to be with NuFocus Group by the nature of her work and relationship with them but would so wish this to be possible with the team (Lise and Nadine). Because they are such a small group with a deadline type workload, it is difficult to do. The conversation goes down the path of how we all “feel” that we are part of the same family, how there are opportunities for us to be part of the same community. Yet somehow, as we dig deeper we realize that NuFocus Market is separate where we are all attentive and aware that by nature of their work, they are different than consultants and we don’t want to interrupt their creative flow. As much as Charline would want her team to be experiencing what she does, it cannot be her responsibility to create or facilitate this. Continuing our talks we then focused on the individual journey that we each have, on how helpful it is to be sharing about this journey, how it affects our individual creativity and how important it is to nourish our soul for creativity which happens when we get out of our own silo to connect with others. We then talked about possibilities of having marketing folks connect with other marketing folks realizing however that creating does not happen by having people each be creating or collaborating on a common project. What would probably be more helpful is opportunities to sound-board with others who are also in the same profession. Then the discussion continued on the pros and cons of connecting by our area of expertise or if it is better to be with people from different functions and areas. Then finally, everyone engaged in a conversation of finding our passion, of facing the tough journey of discovering within ourselves what we love to do.
