Usability design recommendations :

Usability design recommendations Error messages  Severity rating: Severe, user cannot complete desired task. Problem: When opening an application, you sometimes get an error message. Ex. Sorry! Activity My downloads (in application Market) is not responding. The only options are "Force Close" or "Wait" - Solution: Design the software in a way that closes out of applications after the user is done with them; do not keep them running in the background. Secondly, the system should apologize and inform the user that it will need to Force Close. Download Updates  Severity rating: Low, slight user confusion - Problem: Device does not tell the user the status of any downloads, it only alerts the user when the download is finished - Solution: Create an icon in the task bar at the top of the screen that updates with the percentage downloaded
