light Light is produced by the Sun. Light carries energy and travels as a wave. Light waves travel in straight lines.

Why does a red ball look red in white light? White light is made up of a spectrum of colors . The ball absorbs all the colors of the spectrum except red . Only red light is reflected into your eye, so the ball appears red.
