The water is usually hot when it is near a volcano. The hot water in some springs like the Tiwi Hot Spring in Albay is used to generate electricity. Pond : Pond Is still water smaller than a lake. It dries up easily during summer. Creek : Creek It is a body of water branching out from a river. It is smaller than a river or a spring. A creek may be seen in a town, beside a long road or crossing a farm or rice field. The narrow and shallow creek usually dries up during hot summer months.
