Results: Survey I:

Results: Survey I 76% of responding gardens do not have a disaster plan for their collections 89% do not have a “backup” collection 68% have distributed specimens

Results Of those who have distributed plants, 80% keep track of where they went

Results: Survey II 61 % reported that they had never received plants from a botanical garden

Results:

Results 92% would be more likely to accept plants if they were historic, appropriate for the period of significance, or relevant to the organization's mission

Findings Botanic gardens and arboreta are: interested in working with other non-profits already involved in plant distribution Are not: a cohesive group with a cohesive vision always looking towards the future

Findings:

Findings Non-profits are interested in: p artnering with botanic gardens and arboreta plants that fit within their mission smaller numbers of plants leveraging the partnership for publicity Non-profits are concerned about: their level of responsibility staff time needed for plant care and records p aying for plants being penalized for killing plants
