Beverly works today as an independent consultant, following nearly 30 years of leadership roles in museums. She is the former CEO of the Institute for Learning Innovation, known for its research and evaluation of learning in museums. She has served as Acting Director of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, as CEO of Old Sturbridge Village and as the Associate Director of Chester County Historical Society. Sheppard is co-author with John Falk of Thriving in the Knowledge Age: New Business Models for Museums and has served as editor of two books on museum and school partnerships. She is a frequent speaker and writer in the museum field and retains a deep interest in the role of museums as essential resources for lifelong learning. Beverly K.
