Create my own web page warning: Be careful what you Download on your computer Each time you download and install new computer software, system or update, you are making modifications to your pc. Having said that, perhaps you have downloaded things that you now wish you hadn't? I am fairly certain that most of us have regrettably done this at some time. I definitely have and can guarantee you that there is nothing more annoying! All of the sudden, something seems not to work properly on your computer. And the worst thing is that you haven't got a clue what to do about it. Consequently you half- heartedly attempt to fix it yourself, knowing full well that by doing so you could damage your computer even further...
System Restore:
System Restore Now there is a fantastic tip that I would like to share with you. It is a little-known feature in Windows named System Restore. When you encounter problems, use this feature to Undo Changes. It acts a bit like the Undo function in Microsoft Office. You can use it to successfully remove all changes that were made since the problematic download. The best thing is that System Restore will not impinge on your personal data files such as e-mails, browsing history, favorites or Microsoft Office documents, so any changes made to these files won't be lost.
What’s the impact?:
What’s the impact? Having said that, it WILL have an impact on any new programs that you have downloaded. I will now try to make this even clearer.... If you have previously saved documents on your computer, emails, Word documents, etc., these will NOT be affected and will stay as normal after using system restore. BUT... Any computer software or application installed or updated on your selected date WILL be DELETED .
How does System Restore work?:
How does System Restore work? Windows regularly captures a snapshot of your pc. These are known as restore points. If it turns out that you have downloaded a software program which has destabilized your pc, you can easily pick a restore point to bring it back to its formerly stable state. I made use of System Restore recently. I was trying out a brand new sound recording software which for some reasons modified many of my settings. I restored my pc to the previous 24 hours, and everything worked OK!
