How to Measure your Crawl Space :

How to Measure your Crawl Space This easy pictorial will show you how to measure your crawl space opening to help you order the correct size vent or crawl space door.

Slide 2:

Doesn’t matter if your house is old or new. You don’t have to do any construction to your home to install our vents !

Slide 3:

Measure the height of your opening

Slide 4:

Measure the width of the opening

Slide 5:

Our frame mounts flush on the outside of the crawl space. You will need to include the frame height and width when you measure to ensure you have enough area around the opening to install it.

Slide 6:

For example: This is an 8” x 16” foundation opening ( 8” height x 16” width ). With the 1 ½” frame you will need 11” x 19” to install our 8” x 16” vent. Our 8”x 16” vent has a 1 ½” frame

Slide 7:

Another example: This is a crawl space measuring 24” height & 36” width. Using our 24”x 36” vent you would need to measure an extra 6”s height ( 3”top & 3”bottom) and 6”s width ( 3” left & 3” right ). Because the frame is 3”s around. So, you would need 30” x 42” to install our 24”x 36” vent.

Slide 9:
