What do they look like?: 

What do they look like? Gray Wrinkled skin that can weigh up to 1 ton of its weight and is 1 1/2 in thick No sweat glands Big ears to block sun from eyes Trunk which they use as hands that can pick up to 600 lbs. or as small as a coin. Tusk and teeth Long legs and feet

Different types: 

Different types African- Cow- 9 ft tall and 4 ton Bull-13ft 2 in and 6 ton Largest know of-14,500 pounds Bigger ears than Asian/Indian Asian/Indian- Cow-8 ft tall 6,600 pounds Bull-9 to 10 1/2ft tall 8,000 pounds Largest known-10 ft 8 tall

Babies!!!!: 

Babies!!!! When born covered with sparse brown,black,reddish,brown that gradually wears off as they get older. Weighs about 200 pounds at birth Stands about 3 ft tall The babies of an elephant are usually with their mothers for 16 years. Female elephants carry their developing young for 20-22 months, longer than any other mammal.

Habitat: 

Habitat Elephants are mostly always associated with areas with unlimited water sources and large amounts of vegetation. The only exception being the desert elephant from Namibia, that has adapted to survive in those conditions. They don’t really make a nest or a home they just sleep on the ground where they are at.

General Habitat: 

General Habitat Indian-live in Cambodia, china,India,Indonesia,Malaysia,South East Asia, Myanmar ,Sri Thailand,Lanka Vietnam African-mainly just South of the Sahara

What they eat: 

What they eat Grass Bark Roots Leaves Fruit Can consume up to 660 pounds of food Can drink up to 40 gallons of water

Enemies: 

Enemies Mainly… Humans Lions Siberian tiger

Relationship with man: 

Relationship with man Elephants are used to carry heavy loads in Asia Used in most circuses But not so good with men b/c men hunt them for their tusk b/c of the ivory
