OVGTSL Archives: 

OVGTSL Archives Currently located in Special Collections at the University of Kentucky Consists of: 4 archival boxes which include binders of minutes, papers, programs, documentation, etc. and several audio tapes of conferences

Formation of Regional Groups:1922-1923: 

Formation of Regional Groups: 1922-1923 The Chairman of ALA’s Committee on the Reorganization of the Catalog Section suggested regional meetings of catalogers Meetings of catalogers took place in St. Paul, New Haven, NY, Cincy, Boston, Ann Arbor, & Washington ALA Catalog Section revised its constitution to provide for the formation of regional groups Catalogers from Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Louisville met but did not agree to form a regional group

Formation of the Ohio Valley Regional Group:1924 and beyond: 

Formation of the Ohio Valley Regional Group: 1924 and beyond March -- Cincy/Indy/Louisville catalogers met in Indianapolis & agreed to form a regional group October -- Met in conjunction with the Western Reserve Group of Catalogers at the OLA Annual Conference By the end of 1924, regional groups from NY, Boston, & Chicago, along with the Ohio Valley, Twin Cities, & Western Reserve groups had formed The Ohio Valley group has met every year since 1924 except: 1927-28, 1940, 1944-45, 2002

Council of Regional Groups (CRG): 

Council of Regional Groups (CRG) 1923 recommendations 1950 -- 20 groups 2007 -- 49 affiliate members Current ALCTS Bylaws Purpose. The Council of Regional Groups serves as a means for information exchange between the Association and the regional groups and among the constituent groups. The CRG also encourages activities of the groups and considers common problems affecting their work.

Reporting to CRG: 

Reporting to CRG 1960 – papers returned from CRG OVGTSL Bylaws: Section A. The Ohio Valley Group of Technical Services Librarians shall affiliate with the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) of the American Library Association. The Secretary in office at the annual meeting shall send one copy of each paper presented and minutes of each meeting to the Chairperson of the Council of Regional Groups, the Executive Secretary of ALCTS, the newly elected Chairperson of the Group and to the OVGTSL Archives at the University of Kentucky. This should all be done within one month after the meeting.

Concerns: 

Concerns Newsletter 1999-2000, 2005 Web archive There is only one official archive! Bylaws, ARTICLE VI , AFFILIATIONS, Section C. A web site shall be maintained for the Ohio Valley Group of Technical Services Librarians at Western Kentucky University … The web site will contain a brief history of the organization, a list of the current officers, a link to the current annual meeting information, and other appropriate links.

Recommendations:
