Where It All Starts :
Where It All Starts America as a nation, country, and economy was doing fine. People were happy, families as a whole were mostly happy, and life was fine. But everything changed on Tuesday, October 29, 1929. The stock market crashed on a day known as “Black Tuesday”. People rushed to sell their stocks to pay back margins, and get as much money as they could before the market dropped even lower. $30 billion dollars disappeared.
Results :
Results As a result of the stock market crash, people became very poor. And over 90% of America was in poverty. A lot of children were unable to go to school for an education because they needed to get jobs (which didn’t pay much) to help support the family. At the moment, Herbert Hoover was the president. But in my opinion he made no serious attempt to help. He thought it was the own peoples fault. And citizens who were affected by this tragedy were angered by that. To show some of their anger, they would flip their pockets inside out, and call it the Hoover flag.
Time For Change! :
Time For Change! I felt it was time for change, and I ran for president. My name if Franklin D. Roosevelt, and I feel that my fellow citizens should not suffer any further. I will guarantee happiness, with the promise of your patience, support, and belief. To help the economy, and lives of all of you, I think repairing schools, and building more schools will help us out the most. A lot of you are skilled workers with you hands, and could make money building/repairing these schools. Children need to get an education, which I think is very important because we need to think about our future as a nation, and our children are the future of our nation. We can hire teachers, and they can get a decent pay to help support their families. I don’t care if it’s a male or female because we are all suffering as one nation. I also think building hospitals will be helpful, because it will provide jobs for handymen, maids, or house mothers that want to help bring money in, and doctors/nurses who like to help people. Because there are a lot of us that are sick and some even dying because we cant afford medical help, or food. Another thing is, I want to expand law enforcement in the U.S. Too many people are on the street suffering, and its very hard for most of us to see that. By expanding law enforcement, as a whole we will feel more safe, protected, and secure.
I thank you all for your support, belief, and courage. I know we can learn from these mistakes, and prevent them in the future.
